Looking for a fun and affordable family day out these school holidays? Head to the beautiful orange orchards at Dooralong, just one hour from Hornsby, and enjoy the experience of picking your own fresh oranges straight from the trees.

There’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained, including:

Tractor rides
Pony rides (Not on Monday's)
Animal feeding
Large sandpit
Picnic areas to relax
Tractor rides

You'll also find a Rotary sausage sizzle, coffee and ice cream van, and local honey available for purchase. Best of all, there is no entry fee and no booking required. Simply bring your family (and even your dog on a lead), enjoy a day on the farm, and take home as many delicious oranges as you'd like for just $2.50 per kg.

How to Get to the Farm

48 Dittons Rd, Dooralong

Here are simple driving directions from both Sydney and Newcastle so you can reach the orchard easily.

From Sydney (M1 going north)

Exit the M1 at the Wyong/Tuggerah off-ramp.
Turn left at the traffic lights.
At the next T-junction, turn right onto Alison Road.
Turn left at the next intersection onto Hue Hue Road.
At the cemetery, turn left onto Jilliby Road.
After about 10 km, turn left onto Dittons Road at the tennis court.
Follow the signs to the farm.

Approximate travel time from the start of the M1: 1 hour.

From Newcastle (M1 going south)

Exit the M1 at the Morisset off-ramp.
Turn right at the T-junction onto Mandalong Road.
Follow Mandalong Road all the way to the stop sign at the intersection with Jilliby Road at the tennis court.
Cross Jilliby Road and follow the signs to the farm.

Approximate travel time from Morisset: 20 minutes.
